Cardano has recently surpassed 50 million processed transactions. Activity within the network has intensified in recent days, in the final race towards Vasil, the upgrade that will bring greater functionality, performance and scalability to this blockchain.
In the past two weeks, Cardano has processed nearly 1 million transactions.
According to data from block explorer Cardanoscan, in the first half of September, the blockchain network processed a total of 901.133 transactions, with an average of 60.075 transactions per day.
Block explorer data shows one of the highest activity spikes ever recorded on this blockchain. At the time of writing, The total number of transactions processed on Cardano is 50.138.132 transactions, distributed in 363 epochs.

Activity on Cardano has been growing as the date for the arrival of Vasil, the next network upgrade that will be activated on the mainnet next week, on September 22 according to the roadmap shared by the developers, approaches.
This upgrade, which follows Mary and Alonzo, will bring major improvements to Cardano’s performance and scalability.

The Cardano ecosystem continues to grow
Despite the bearish conditions in the crypto market, which have caused ADA to lose nearly 70% of its value in 2022, Cardano remains in the Top 10 of the main cryptocurrencies on the market and the number of projects being developed within this blockchain network has continued to increase.
In a post this week, the vice president of community and ecosystem at Input Output Global, the company responsible for developing the Cardano network, reported that currently There are a total of 1.093 projects developed on the blockchain; this represents a growth of 8,9% compared to the number of projects which the company reported last June.

The number of projects built on this blockchain increased significantly after the implementation of the Alonzo upgrade on the mainnet last year. Alonzo deployed smart contracts on this blockchain.
Currently, almost 40% of the projects that have been built on Cardano are directly related to NFT collections, the Metaverse, and wallets.
On the other hand, the Contora team, which collects and analyzes data on cryptocurrency projects and companies in the blockchain industry, reported that Cardano has 357 active GitHub contributors, leading the cryptocurrency market in terms of technological development.
Following the activation of Vasil, Cardano will significantly improve its network capabilities, which will further boost the continued growth of the developer community that relies on this blockchain.
