French automaker Bugatti and luxury goods company Asprey Studio have launched the first collection of NFT tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain.
NFTs are inspired by the shape of an egg, considered by Carlo Bugatti, father of businessman Ettore Bugatti, as “the purest perfect form of nature”.
The companies combined the timeless creations of the Bugatti family with the heritage and craftsmanship of Asprey to create a unique, limited-edition egg collection using precious metals.
Titled “The Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection”, is a collection of phygital eggs, which exists both in the real world and on the blockchain.
Asprey Studio, the company in charge of the design of this new crypto collection, reported that it is being produced both in the physical world and in the digital world, as pieces of generative art in NFT format backed by the blockchain and created using the techniques and cutting-edge materials from the company.
NFTs have been created on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol, which allows data and files to be registered on the Bitcoin blockchain using satoshis.
Bugatti and Asprey's first NFT collection in Bitcoin
The collaboration between Bugatti and Asprey Studio to launch their first collection of non-fungible tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain highlights the frenzy sparked by the Ordinals protocol in the crypto industry.
Currently, the number of Ordinals registered on the Bitcoin blockchain exceeds 55.000 per day, according to a publication made by NFT historian @LeonidasNFT earlier this month.
Regarding the use of this blockchain, Bugatti and Asprey Studio highlighted that with the registration of digital content in the Bitcoin network they are “ensuring your artwork lasts indefinitely”.
Bitcoin is considered the most important and powerful blockchain in the world.
NFTs inspired by the Bugatti Type 41 Royale
The Bugatti and Asprey NFTs are inspired by the words of Carlo Bugatti and, also, by one of the sculptures made by Rembrandt Bugatti.
The companies used a work of art designed by the Italian sculptor, who was key in the decoration of the hood of the Bugatti Type 41 Royale car, a luxury automobile never produced.
Ali Walker, creative director of Asprey Studio, said that the launch of “The Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection” allows us to represent the essence of Bugatti through generative art encoded in the blockchain. It is a new form of expression and art in itself, he explained.
On the other hand, Wiebke Ståhl, general director of Bugatti International, highlighted that the crypto collection maintains the vision of its founder, as a tribute to its history and to Ettore's creations designed with a pioneering spirit.
The crypto collection will be launched later this month during the gallery opening of the Asprey Studio Gallery in Mayfair, London.
