Blockchain technology is integrated into UPNFM's educational processes

📍‌The Francisco Morazán National Pedagogical University (UPNFM) will be the first in Honduras and Central America to adopt blockchain technology. According to several local media, such as The Accent, the rector of the University, Hermes Alduvín Días, has signed an agreement with the Blockchain Honduras organization to add this innovative technology to the educational processes of the UPNFM. 

The agreement is focused on improving understanding and education about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, as well as supporting the implementation of new and innovative projects and solutions that drive the use and adoption of blockchain. 

Alduvín Días recalled that UPNFM has been a pioneer in Central America in the use and implementation of blockchain, using this technology for the Digital certification through NFTsOn the other hand, the person in charge of Blockchain Honduras, Carlos Leonardo Paguada, assured that the blockchain will allow UPNFM to make its educational processes recordable and more transparent. 

The R3al Metaverse, a reality show starring NFT avatars

📍‌Animation studio Invisible Universe has launched a series starring NFTs. Several characters from the industry's most important NFT crypto collections, such as Bored Ape, World of Women and Cool Cat, star in an animated reality show inspired by the metaverse, titled The R3al Metaverse, whose development will be in the hands of the crypto community. 

According to the studio behind the series, Invisible Universe, The R3al Metaverse is a parody of a reality show that has come to life through various NFT avatars. The company noted that this is one of the many ways that owners can use their 3D avatars. 

The series, which will have 34 episodes, stars “Pete” from Bored Ape Yacht Club, “Journey” from World of Women, “Claudine” from Doodles, “Monty” from Cool Cats and “Sam” from Robotos. According to the series, each of these characters left their metaverse to live together in a house located in Los Angeles (United States).

Cruises in the Metaverse

📍‌Florida-based cruise company Carnival Cruise Lines will be taking its cruises to the Metaverse. The American company has filed four applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to offer its travel and transportation services in the virtual world. 

Trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis took to Twitter to share Carnival Cruise’s trademark applications submitted to the USPTO. In the post, he notes that the cruise company also has plans to launch products such as virtual clothing, food, beverages, consumer merchandise, accessories, and digital goods such as NFT tokens, in addition to creating entertainment and recreation services for the Metaverse. 

Advances in the digital dollar 

📍‌Digital Dollar Project moves towards implementing a CBDC digital currency for the dollar. On Twitter, the association created in alliance by Accenture and the Dólar Digital Foundation announced new progress towards the implementation of a digital dollar. 

According to the publication, a new campaign will begin in the United States next month. regulatory sandbox which will allow the launch of a CBDC for the dollar in order to carry out a series of technical implementations of the digital currency, starting with cross-border payments. The objective of this regulatory program, according to the association, is to move towards the exploration and implementation of a digital currency that allows the tokenization of the dollar, which is currently the main reserve currency in the world. 

Although the Federal Reserve (FED) does not seem to have much enthusiasm for creating a CBDC, the Digital Dollar Project believes that the issuance of a digital dollar is a prudent decision for the United States, especially considering that dozens of national governments, including China, have already made significant progress in this area. 

On the other hand, Ripple, the blockchain company that has been facing the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since 2020, will be one of the main entities participating in the regulatory sandbox being prepared by the Digital Dollar Project.
