Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum

During his participation in this forum, Satoshi explained many things about Bitcoin; in addition, he talked and interacted directly with users to make key decisions that shaped the cryptocurrency. In the forum, there are about 570 messages written by Satoshi between 2009 and 2010.
Thus, Bitcointalk became the center of conversations, debates and discussions about the development of Bitcoin, its privacy and security.
Bitcoin Pizza Day and “HODL”
Bitcointalk was also the place where one of the most important conversations about Bitcoin to date took place, the success of which allowed the cryptocurrency to grow into what it is today. The renowned programmer Laszlo Hanyecz Hanyecz first talked about the possibility of making a purchase using BTC. In May 2010, Hanyecz wrote that he wanted to buy two large pizzas with 10.000 BTC as payment.
Hanyecz's wish came true within a few days, giving rise to The first successful purchase with BTC, which highlighted the potential of cryptocurrency as an exchange of value. At the time, the 10.000 BTC that Hanyecz used to buy the two pizzas were worth the equivalent of about $41. Today, this same amount of BTC is worth over $470 million, with Bitcoin trading at around $XNUMX million. $47.100 per unit on the market, at the time of this writing. The Bitcoin forum was also the birthplace of the popular word “HODL,” which refers to the firm decision to hold bitcoins or other cryptoassets for the long term.
Gavin Andresen
In her last message On the famous forum, Satoshi announced the release of a new version of the Bitcoin software, v0.3.19, which would introduce important improvements to make the cryptocurrency resistant to DoS attacks. However, unbeknownst to anyone, that would be the last message that Satoshi Nakamoto would publish on the Bitcointalk forum, leaving the community abruptly and full of doubts. A few days later, Bitcoin Core developer, Gavin Andresen, posted a thread noting that he would begin to do more active management for BTC. Andresen was already known to the crypto community, having become Satoshi’s right-hand man a few months earlier.
“With Satoshi’s blessing, and with great reluctance, I will begin doing more active project management for Bitcoin. Everyone please bear with me; I’ve had plenty of project management experience at startups, but this is the first open source project of any size I’ve been involved with.”
After his last message on Bitcointalk, Satoshi made a new and final appearance on the Internet through Satoshi Nakamoto Institute, in March 2014, when he denied speculation about being Dorian Nakamoto.
The legacy of Satoshi Nakamoto
Bitcoin, now considered and known as the most important cryptocurrency in the world, is the greatest legacy left to us by Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin is both an open source software that connects thousands of computers located in different parts of the world, as well as a protocol and a cryptocurrency; all of this is a symbol of development, technological innovation, freedom and financial independence.
In 2008, Nakamoto shared the whitepaper or Bitcoin White Paper, marking a historic moment for everyone; celebrated every October 31st. Today, although it is not really known who or who are hiding behind this pseudonym, there is a faceless public statue erected in Budapest, in honor of the creator of Bitcoin and in tribute to his great contributions.
Thank you Satoshi for the Bitcoin legacy!
