The Graph Foundation proposes the integration of Bitcoin, Polkadot and many other blockchains to improve the composability of data on-chain, creating open and decentralized applications and APIs that facilitate access to data.
The Graph is a decentralized data indexing and query protocol created to allow users and developers to design, build and enable Web3 applications that operate in a completely decentralized manner on a public infrastructure. This indexing protocol is enabled on the Ethereum late last year. Ethereum is, so far, the main blockchain of the market for the development of decentralized applications (dApps), smart contracts (smart contracts), protocols of DeFi and more.
Within Ethereum, The Graph has integrations with many applications and protocols that are developed on this network, such as Uniswap, Aave, Decentraland, Balancer y Synthetix, which make use of The Graph subgraphs to serve and retrieve data.
Now the Graph Foundation, the entity responsible for developing the decentralized data indexing protocol, has plans to integrate blockchains Bitcoin, Polkadot, Near-Protocol, Cosmos, Solana, Avalanche, Binance SmartChain y Zeal to make it as easy as possible for developers to access on-chain data and create decentralized applications.

Innovation in the decentralized Internet
If the integration of the proposed blockchain networks takes hold as the Foundation plans, The Graph project would be poised to drive a new wave of innovation and technology on the decentralized Internet, he said. Eva Beylin, director of the Graph Foundation, through a releaseIn it, Beylin explains that no matter which layer-1 blockchain it's being built on, The Graph's goal is to accelerate the Web3 ecosystem's upward trajectory and enable developers to create subgraphs to easily access data from all chains.
“We believe this is a key part of unlocking the next wave of innovation in the decentralized Internet.”
The creators of this protocol consider it quite convenient, and even essential, that The Graph offers support for all blockchains that meet certain technical standards, and that have strong community support, as is the case with Bitcoin, Polkadot and the other proposed blockchain networks. Likewise, The Graph Foundation points out that it is necessary for the blockchains that integrate The Graph to have a good adoption base, both on the part of developers and users, and also to comply with applicable laws.
The Graph Foundation notes that expanding the protocol to other layer-1 blockchain networks will boost the overall growth and development of Web3, while also helping and supporting existing Ethereum developers to easily build interoperable applications.
It's time to reach out to other blockchains
Although The Graph's integration into Ethereum happened just a few months ago, the Foundation has been developing subgraph features and improving the Graph Node for Ethereum for 3 years. And now that it has accomplished its goal, it believes it is time to apply this standard to other blockchain networks, expanding to support other chains. Nevertheless, Beylin stated that Ethereum will remain the base blockchain for the project and for its GRT token, a utility token created under the token structure. ERC-20.
Composability and interoperability in The Graph
The goal of this project is to solve blockchain composability problems by creating decentralized APIs that allow access to data from multiple blockchain networks. The Graph makes developing and interacting with blockchain applications much easier, eliminating the need to build a server or back-end infrastructure to do so.
This protocol reduces friction and ensures interoperability, so that any user or application developer can query data extremely easily, quickly and simply, with just a few keystrokes.
The Graph supports the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), which is a peer-to-peer (p2p) hypermedia protocol that makes the web faster, more secure, and more open.
