Bitcoin enters the Guinness Book of Records as the world's first decentralized cryptocurrency.

For the first time in history, Bitcoin has entered the Guinness Book of Records, where it has been officially recognized as the first decentralized cryptocurrency of history. 

The cryptocurrency has been included within a section called “Cryptomania”, which will include other milestones related to cryptocurrencies, cryptography and blockchain.

According to the new edition of the book of records, Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency ever createdas well as a of greater value and the first to be decentralized.

Since its creation in 2009, the cryptocurrency has remained at the top in terms of market valuation. Although thousands of new cryptocurrencies have emerged over time, none have managed to surpass Bitcoin in valuation. 

Currently, Bitcoin continues to dominate the crypto space, with a 40% market dominance and a cumulative value of $370.000 billion.

But Bitcoin has not been the only protagonist of the new Cryptomania section. CryptoPunks have snuck in as the most expensive NFT collection in history, after Deepak Thapliya bought the CryptoPunk#5822 for $23,7 million worth of ETH in February 2022.

On the other hand, El Salvador appears as the first country in the world to have adopted a cryptocurrency (in this case Bitcoin) as legal tender

Finally, the Manchester City token also stands out, which has entered the list as the most expensive fan token, as it reached a market cap of $47,1 million in March, a time that the editors used as a reference (currently, City's fan token is at $24,8 million).

On the other hand, the English language dictionary, Merriam-Webster, has added several words from the crypto lexicon to its new edition.

In this way, terms such as “altcoin”, “metaverse”, “token” or “Bitcoin” are already are officially part of the English languageThis is a sign that the adoption of the crypto world is growing, as its terms are beginning to take root in society, which already includes them in its daily life, becoming part of the daily lexicon.
