Base integrates Chainlink Automation

Base enhances the automation capabilities of its smart contracts with the integration of Chainlink Automation.

The blockchain industry standard for smart contract automation, Chainlink Automation, has been launched on the Base network, a second-layer solution secured on Ethereum.

This launch was recently announced by the Chainlink developers, who confirmed the deployment of their solution on the Base main network, in order to increase the automation capabilities of smart contracts based on this blockchain network.

As highlighted by the developers, the automation standard will allow blockchain developers to execute heavy tasks within the network with minimal gas consumption.

Smart contract automation is available in Base

Chainlink Automation will enable Base network developers to access decentralized, verifiable and gas-efficient smart contract automation capabilities. This will allow developers to delegate complex computational tasks to the Chainlink network, maintaining the verifiability of blockchains, but saving up to 90% on gas costs.

Johann Eid, Commercial Director of Chainlink Labs, emphasized that the integration of the smart contract automation standard in Base marks a milestone for the innovation and evolution of blockchains. He commented that this integration reinforces the development of the blockchain ecosystem, allowing developers to increase the amount of computing they include in their smart contracts, and opening the doors for the development of more advanced use cases in the crypto world.

In addition to this, the Chainlink Automation integration will also allow Base developers to take advantage of the various services offered by the Chainlink network, ranging from the CCIP decentralized interoperability protocol, to the Data Feeds aggregated data solution, among others.

Through the set of tools that Chainlink offers, developers can create scalable and robust applications that integrate with multiple data sources and external systems, the developers indicated.

What is Chainlink Automation?

Chainlink Automation is a solution designed to help blockchain developers quickly scale their projects, without having to deal with the high setup and ongoing maintenance costs and risks of using a centralized automation stack.

The goal of this automation solution is to help developers execute functions of their smart contracts in a secure and decentralized manner, facilitating the creation of innovative, fast and reliable applications in a multitude of sectors.

Chainlink is a prominent project that helps securely and reliably connect blockchains with the outside world. It offers a decentralized and scalable network of blockchain oracles, which allow users and developers to quickly access reliable data, perform off-chain calculations and communicate between different blockchains, bringing interoperability to the ecosystem.

Base incorporates innovative solutions to accelerate its growth

Ethereum's second layer network is focusing on improving its chain infrastructure by integrating innovative solutions across different sectors. In addition to Chainlink Automation, Base recently reported on the arrival of the Synthetix protocol, to integrate perpetual contracts and crypto derivatives into its blockchain ecosystem.

Base creator Jesse Pollak said the solutions Base has been implementing will help enhance the capabilities of the blockchain and make it easier for developers to create cutting-edge Web3 experiences, fostering adoption in the broader crypto industry. .

For Base, smart contract automation offers a wide range of possibilities that will unlock new ways to connect multiple dApps (decentralized applications) and more sophisticated use cases for the chain. All this, without affecting the security or reliability of the blockchain ecosystem.
