The second-generation blockchain platform, AVA Labs, announced in April of this year its first university hackathon, AVALaunch I. In which students from all over the world, especially Spanish-speaking students, will be able to compete. The platform assures that students will have until June 7 to present their development projects and win up to $50.000 in prizes.
AVA Labs seeks to encourage ingenuity, the ability to create and develop innovative applications in young people and university students with its first Hackathon. A great attempt to bring value to both the community and users. Therefore, the focus of this meeting, which will be held online, is for students to be able to create the best applications and tools focused on decentralized finance (DeFi). Which will be developed within its new public test network.
It is also expected that these new applications will be very useful for the entire cryptographic community. At the same time, tools can be developed that allow for greater network usability, detect possible errors, provide feasible solutions, among many others.
At the end of the competition, only 3 of the projects submitted to the AVA Labs Hackathon will be selected to take first, second and third place. The winners will be awarded a total of $50.000 to be shared. The prize for the first project will be $1, while second place will receive $35.000, and third place $10.000. The students who take the top three spots will also receive honorable mentions, the opportunity to do summer internships, and give exclusive interviews.
With these incentives, AVA Labs seeks to stimulate the desire to continue more development projects that create and promote the blockchain technology of the future.

AVA Labs and its AVALaunch I Hackathon show special interest in Spanish-speaking students
No matter what country you are from, all university students interested in developing applications for financial products and services can openly participate in the AVA Labs Hackathon, AVALaunch I. Which is being carried out online as an alternative for innovation and growth in these difficult times due to COVID-19.
This was expressed by Ricardo Vázquez, representative of AVA Labs, mentioning that:
“We seek to provide alternatives in the context of staying at home. And more so in the Spanish-speaking world. Where there is a lot of talent, but sometimes there are not many showcases to showcase it.”
The spokesperson for AVA Labs makes special recognition of the talent that exists in Spanish-speaking countries, where many people with great abilities, skills and ingenuity for the creation and development of innovative applications can be found.
For its part, AVA Labs also made a Special invitation to students of Cornell University, New York. Remembering that this platform based on blockchain technology has part of its roots there. Since its CEO, co-founder and blockchain expert, Emin Gün Sirer, is a professor and co-director of the cryptocurrency and smart contracts project of the computer science program at this university.
AVA-X Program, accelerating the development of decentralized finance (DeFi)
The AVA-X program is one of the most recent programs launched by the AVA Labs platform. With which seeks to provide greater participation to all those developers interested in decentralized finance (DeFi). And who wish to create decentralized applications (dApps) on the AVA blockchain.
The platform's spokesperson, Ricardo Vázquez, commented on the matter:
“AVA-X is the evolution of the Developer Acceleration Program. In this way, we are broadening the horizon so that the community interested in the AVA platform can make proposals to meet the specific needs of DApps, communities, projects, etc. with a grant.”
So through this new developer program The goal is to encourage and strengthen the creation of decentralized finance and applications. As a method to provide the market with useful tools that allow the issuance of assets and the satisfaction of demand in real time.
The implementation of the AVA network aims to achieve a transaction processing capacity very similar to, and even greater than, that currently held by Visa, with all the properties and advantages that blockchain technology offers in this type of project.
Furthermore, in addition to the prizes offered at the AVA Labs hackathon, AVALaunch I, In this program there is also the possibility for users to make their own proposals and present their projects.. With which they can obtain up to $50.000 in AVA tokens or direct funding for their projects. They only have to focus on solving errors in the network code, creating a new wallet, generating support for physical wallets such as Ledger and much more.
AVA Public Testnet Launched
The launch of the AVA public testnet aims to encourage the participation of the entire crypto community and its developers, allowing the network's existing potential to be further improved and developed, which is already comparable to the main advantages offered by large centralized payment processing centers.
This was mentioned by the president of AVA Labs, John Wu, who also highlighted that:
“This hackathon is just the first of many to come as part of our AVA-X grants, education and engagement program. Designed to nurture and foster exponential startups on the AVA platform. It’s been a lot of hard work to get to this point, but now the real fun begins as developers from around the world can dig into the code and create real projects of their own.”
Referring to the fact that through the hackathon, which is currently taking place and ends the first week of June, a window of endless opportunities is opening up. Where tools, new smart contracts, network errors can be built, the client can be made to work much faster, and much more.
