Arbitrum will support the development of Web3 games with 250 million ARB tokens

The Arbitrum network community, which has become a major player in Web3 gaming, is supporting its future expansion plans within this sector.

An Arbitrum governance proposal to allocate 200 million ARB tokens, around $250 million USD at the time of writing, enjoys the support of majority support of the community, which has mobilized more than ARB 35 million in support of this proposal.

As seen in the graph of the DAO platform, Tally, the decentralized governance of Arbitrum has voted in favor of the creation of the The Gaming Catalyst program, which will enable blockchain network builders to support the development of the gaming ecosystem in the Web3 industry.

The governance proposal in question was introduced last week with the aim of boosting Arbitrum’s Web3 gaming ecosystem. Although the governance vote closes on June 7, it is already receiving quite a bit of positive feedback from the community, which supports the blockchain’s steady progress, especially in the decentralized finance and gaming sector.

Web3: Innovation, robust technology and incentives in the world of gaming

As Arbitrum develops, the network is gaining greater relevance within the blockchain gaming sector, so through its new program it seeks to empower Web3 game developers.

In the governance proposal, the creators highlight the importance of The Gaming Catalyst program to “immediately expand awareness and adoption of Arbitrum/Orbit/Stylus by creators and players in the gaming community.” In addition to this, they consider the program essential to accelerate the gaming industry’s entry into the Web3 ecosystem.

Arbitrum compared the growth potential of Web3 gaming with the impressive expansion seen in the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.

“The proliferation of DeFi on Arbitrum shows how quickly a snowball effect can onboard builders, users, and ultimately value to the Arbitrum DAO and other stakeholders… We believe there is an equal opportunity to attract top builders who will in turn build high-quality, engaging games that attract and retain new users within Arbitrum,” the project’s governance proposal reads.

According to Arbitrum, the Web3 gaming market could surpass $500.000 billion in market capitalization over the next decade. This massive growth potential is attracting several of the market’s biggest blockchains, including Solana, Cardano, and Optimism, which are interested in leading this sector of the blockchain industry.

Arbitrum's The Gaming Catalyst program

In the case of Arbitrum, the network considers its participation in the Web3 gaming ecosystem to be incipient, and through its new program it intends to improve its strategies to attract more developers in this sector. Arbitrum has a dedicated gaming network, called Nova, which gives developers access to innovative tools that allow them to build new high-quality games, with a simplified user experience and elements that can be monetized by players.

Through The Gaming Catalyst, Arbitrum will leverage the potential of Nova and its broader blockchain ecosystem by providing support and resources, from funding to mentoring and assistance, to developers interested in building on the Arbitrum Network.

One billion transactions on Nova and One

Recently, Arbtirum developers celebrated a milestone, reaching 1.000 billion transactions processed through the Nova and One networks.

Through X, the developers of the blockchain network they stood out the rapid growth achieved by its ecosystem, which has the support of a large community of developers, builders, users, players and degens.
