Layer 1 blockchain Aptos has partnered with oracle network Chainlink to facilitate developers' access to additional tools for building next-generation decentralized applications (DApps).
The partnership makes Aptos the first Layer 1 blockchain based on the non-EVM-compatible Move programming language to integrate the Data Feeds and Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) services of Chainlink, the blockchain oracle network based on the Ethereum blockchain.
Aptos developers highlighted that the goal of this integration is to create a bridge between the network and the EVM ecosystem to provide developers with broader access to the vast world of blockchain technology, with the goal that they can use innovative tools to create a new generation of highly scalable and feature-rich decentralized applications, welcoming the next wave of Web3 users.
The integration of Aptos with Chainlink CCIP was announced during the Consensus 2024 conference, organized by CoinDesk in the city of Austin, Texas.
New launches announced in Aptos
Via X (formerly Twitter), Aptos developers announced that new Chainlink products will soon be launched on the blockchain platform, supporting its growth and innovation.
The Aptos Foundation highlighted that the collaboration with Chainlink will allow blockchain developers and builders to make use of new features for the creation of decentralized applications and use offchain data that, in general, will help to enrich and strengthen their ecosystem, improving the user experience in EVM and non-EVM environments.
As part of the announced collaboration, Aptos is joining Chainlink's Scale program, which is intended to drive the growth of different blockchain ecosystems, allowing projects to offset the operating costs of oracle networks for a certain time, with the to expand developer access to new tools and solutions that are critical to building new DApps, while gaining greater scalability, efficiency, and security.
Chainlink has been striving to improve network interoperability in the blockchain ecosystem, creating solutions that allow different blockchains to connect with each other. In the case of Aptos, as its creators noted in a recent statement, it has become the first Move blockchain to integrate an EVM chain solution.
What is Aptos?
The Aptos blockchain, developed by former Meta members, is a blockchain that is focused on scalability and high performance, offering users speed and low transaction costs. Aptos is a Proof of Stake (PoS) chain that uses the Move smart contract programming language.
In the last week, the statistics of this blockchain network increased considerably, reflecting a growth of more than 50% in the number of active users and 4,3% in the total value deposited (TVL) in the chain, according to with the metrics network weekly, published by Token Relation.
However, despite experiencing significant growth in the number of active users, as well as other metrics, such as the number of weekly transactions processed, the price of the APT cryptocurrency, native to the blockchain network, experienced a decrease of 3,23 %. According to the CoinMarketCap platform, the price of APT rose 7% on May 30, when the developers announced the alliance and integration with Chainlink, going from $8,8 dollars to $9,4 dollars, in a few hours. However, at the time of writing this article, the Aptos price It fell back and is trading again above $8,8 dollars per unit.

Regarding the Aptos DeFi ecosystem, it experienced growth of more than 350% in the last quarter, driven by incentive programs, decentralized loans and the announced partnership with the company Jambo to integrate the blockchain into the JamboPhone smartphone.
On the other hand, in addition to Aptos, 6 other blockchain ecosystems have integrated with Chainlink's Scale program, to strengthen their respective chain ecosystems, build new decentralized applications and protocols, and generally optimize performance, interoperability, and security. . These projects include Avalanche, Metis, Moonbeam and Moonriver.
