A few days before this announcement, The Open Network also announced the cancellation of its conference TON Gateway, which was scheduled to take place in early May in Dubai. The decision was based on similar security concerns, reflecting the delicate situation the region faces regarding the holding of international events.

Token2049 Dubai postpones its event until 2027

Just hours before Token2049 Dubai announced its postponement, The Open Network (TON) confirmed the cancellation of TON Gateway, its conference scheduled to take place in the emirate on May 1 and 2. 

According to reported The TON team in X stated that the decision was due to security risks linked to the regional conflict. The organization indicated that current conditions do not allow them to hold the event with the necessary security for their community.

The event organizers are guaranteeing refunds for attendees who had already confirmed and purchased tickets. According to their statement, ticket holders will receive their refunds within approximately 14 days. The team also indicated that they are exploring alternative dates for holding TON Gateway at a later date, although no date has been confirmed yet.
