Switzerland is home to Plan ₿, an initiative based in the city of Lugano to promote education about Bitcoin and Blockchain.
In the middle of this month, an educational event was held in the city of Lugano, Switzerland, focused on spreading knowledge and culture about one of the greatest innovations of our times, Bitcoin.
The event, called “Plan ₿ Summer School”, took place from July 2 to 15 and featured the participation of several experts, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts from the world of cryptocurrencies, such as Adam Back, CEO Blockstream and Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether Limited.
Plan ₿ Summer School also saw the participation of several academics and three of the most important universities in the country: Franklin University Switzerland (FUS), Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).
Lugano promotes Bitcoin education
The increasing involvement of universities and educational institutions in teaching about Bitcoin is of great importance for cryptocurrency and the industry in general, since as highlighted by crypto enthusiast and ESG analyst Daniel Batten, academic research and education about Bitcoin and its underlying technology is serving to break several of the myths and misconceptions that still remain about the world’s first successful cryptocurrency; especially those related to the cryptocurrency’s anonymity and the environmental impact of BTC mining.
Batten had Commented In the middle of this month, whenever a revolutionary and disruptive technology like Bitcoin is born, academic and journalistic evaluation is poor during its first years of development.
Fortunately, initiatives such as Plan ₿ are breaking with this paradigm through strategic alliances with universities, specialized courses, training workshops and grants that allow for strengthening knowledge about Bitcoin, blockchain technology and its potential use cases.
Plan ₿ Summer School
The Plan ₿ Summer School educational event was part of the initiatives promoted by Plan ₿ together with Tether Limited, the company that develops the stablecoin USDT, to expand knowledge about Bitcoin.
Other peer-to-peer technologies that are part of the blockchain ecosystem, such as the Lightning Network scaling solution and stablecoins, were also part of Plan ₿ Summer School.
The aim of this program was to promote the development and adoption of Bitcoin, motivate students to understand how this decentralized network works and show how it can free us from the current financial system, dominated by governments and central banks, to lead us towards financial freedom.
More initiatives to educate about Bitcoin
In addition to the Plan ₿ Summer School event, Plan ₿ and Tether are hosting the “Plan B Forum”, which will take place in the city of Lugano on October 20 and 21 of this year.
This conference, where Bitcoin is also the main theme, will bring together world leaders, technologists, entrepreneurs and crypto enthusiasts to discuss cryptocurrency adoption and the nation-state economy, financial freedom and freedom of expression.
All these initiatives developed by Plan ₿ and Tether, to reinforce and expand knowledge about Bitcoin, are making Switzerland a center for crypto education.
