Ethereum scaling solution Polygon has been selected by Disney's project accelerator seeking to develop Web 3 projects.
Polygon (MATIC) has been one of the Six projects selected to participate in the Accelerator Program, a project accelerator managed by The Walt Disney Company, with the aim of promoting the growth of projects related to Augmented Reality (AR), non-fungible tokens (NFT) and artificial intelligence (AI).
Polygon has been the unique project based on the blockchain selected by the company to participate in the project, something that Ryan Wyatt, CEO of Polygon, has highlighted on his Twitter account.
Wyatt has also expressed his satisfaction at having been selected by Disney to participate in the shuttle program, as it shows that all the effort of these years is beginning to bear fruit and is a Good sign for the future of Polygon.
What is Accelerator Program?
On May 13, 2022, The Walt Disney Company launched the Accelerator project, with which it aims to attract companies with great projection and a vision that can impact the future of technology and entertainment.
Throughout the program, participating companies will receive guidance and support from the company's technology leaders and will be assigned an executive mentor.
La Disney Accelerator has selected other Web3 projects, such as Flickpay, an app that allows users to discover NFTs through augmented reality and Lockverse, a storytelling platform that connects creators and brands.
Another company participating in the accelerator is Inworld, an application that allows users to create interactive characters, with the help of artificial intelligence, to create immersive experiences.
Obsess, an experimental e-commerce platform that allows brands to create 3D virtual stores and Red 6, an AR company that has created a headset which operates outdoors, are the other two companies that will participate in the Disney program.
How has the choice of Polygon affected the price of MATIC?
The news of Polygon's selection to participate in Disney's accelerator program has boosted the value of MATIC by more than 15%, although it is still well below the ATH it marked in 2021.
However, the fact that the layer 2 solution was selected by Disney, along with the migration of much of the Terra projects, could be the boost that MATIC needs to recover part of its value.
