New York University, together with the sustainable scalability blockchain Near Protocol, will offer a workshop focused on Web3, entitled «Web 3.0 Learning Workshop», which will be aimed at students and teachers interested in learning about the topic.
This is not the first time that the prestigious university, one of the largest private higher education institutions in the United States and the world, has opened its doors to education on the underlying technologies of the crypto industry.
Angie Kamath, dean of New York University's School of Professional Studies, told Cointelegraph that new technologies will have a significant impact on our daily lives, hence the importance of educating young people and adults about them.
“Web3 and Blockchain technologies will have a big role to play”, Kamath said.
The workshop, which the University is organizing together with Near Protocol, seeks to raise awareness among students and teachers about the innovation of cryptocurrencies, the importance of blockchain technology and the transformative potential of Web3, while contributing to closing the knowledge gap that exists about this industry.
As it was announced, specifically the university's Web 3.0 learning workshop will seek to explain The intersection and utility of emerging technologies with the sports industry.
Additionally, as mentioned above, Near Protocol co-founder Michael Kelly will be on hand to teach participants about various applications of Web3 technologies in practical situations, so that students can experiment with the various related tools and applications.
To further encourage hands-on experiences on Web3, students and teachers attending the workshop will also have the opportunity to receive a NFT tokens based on the Near Protocol network.
As blockchain and Web3 technology advance, more universities are interested in offering their students new training opportunities. For example, in September last year, Nanjing University announced a training plan focused on the metaverse.
