Strengthening public-private collaboration

The 1st National Blockchain and Digital Transformation Hackathon initiative is more than just an ideas competition; it is a comprehensive strategy to foster innovation and technological development in the Community of Madrid. The regional government has recognised that collaboration between the public and private sectors is crucial to address contemporary challenges and ensure a sustainable and prosperous future.

The funding and support provided to the winning projects not only helps to transform ideas into real solutions, but also attracts and retains talent in the region. With this, Madrid is further positioning itself as a hub for innovation and technology, attracting entrepreneurs, developers and companies looking for a favourable environment to develop and scale their projects.

Connecting innovation and community

The participation of the Blockchain and Digital Transformation clusters in the hackathon has been fundamental to ensure that the selected projects are viable and aligned with the needs of the community. These clusters, which bring together companies, academic institutions and government organizations, provide a collaborative ecosystem that facilitates the exchange of knowledge, resources and opportunities.

In addition, the Community of Madrid has implemented mentoring and advisory programs for the winning teams, allowing them to receive guidance and support throughout the development process of their projects. This strategy not only ensures that the solutions are effective and sustainable, but also fosters the creation of a collaborative network that can extend beyond the pilot period.

“Upon receiving the award, the winners undertake to present a pilot test within four months. The challenge has been organised by the Blockchain and Digital Transformation clusters of the Community of Madrid and the City Council of Tres Cantos”, said the Community of Madrid.

By addressing real problems and improving the quality of life of citizens, these projects will not only have a positive impact at the local level, but will also contribute to the economic and technological development of the region.

The implementation of blockchain-based solutions in key sectors such as housing, energy, the labour market and public administration not only optimises processes and reduces costs, but also fosters transparency, security and trust. These benefits are crucial to building a more inclusive and resilient society.
