Internet browsing giant Google continues to offer improvements for Web3 developers.
Google has updated the policies of the Google Play digital application distribution platform to add support for Web3 developers.
In its policy update this month, Google reported that it is prioritizing Web3 to integrate additional tools and components that will allow developers to build new functionalities in their games and apps based on the decentralized Internet.
Google assures that it has been in conversations with interested parties to evaluate the best way to evolve its platform and its Google Play service.
“With any new technology, we must balance innovation with our responsibility to protect users, so we have initiated conversations with developer partners to evaluate how potential policy changes could responsibly support these opportunities,” the company highlighted.
At the same time, Google recognized the high demand from developers who want to incorporate new tools, including the tokenization of digital assets such as NFT tokens, that allow them to optimize their applications and products.
The company highlighted that Google Play is already home to several applications and projects based on blockchain technology.
Blockchain Node Engine
In addition to updating Google Play policies to make room for the decentralized Internet based on blockchain, the company specialized in software and Internet services has launched a new initiative, called “Blockchain Node Engine.”
This is Google's latest product for developers on the Web3.
Blockchain Node Engine was launched at the end of last October as a node hosting service. At first, this service only allowed Ethereum developers to host nodes, but to date it has spread to other blockchains by integrating support for Solana and Aptos.
With the launch of the Blockchain Node Engine, Google seeks to offer a fully managed node hosting service that can minimize the need for operations on a node. In this way, the company wants to make the work of developers easier so that they can dedicate themselves more fully to the development of Web3 applications, solutions and projects.
